THANK YOU NOTES 2023
“Thank you so much for an amazing trophy (solo piano trophy)! I was very proud and grateful to win it. Thank you so much.” “Your generosity has brightened my day. Thank you for giving me a generous gift. Thank you for noticing that I am working very hard to achieve.” “I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your generosity in funding the Kiwanis Music Festival Trust W. L. “Bill” Cleland Memorial. I am very honoured to be the recipient of this award.” “Thank you for recognizing our chamber orchestra with the Leonard Morley Rose Bowl Trophy. Our students were beyond delighted.” “We were the recipients of the Harriet Kelly Memorial. We are grateful for your generous donation. We’ve truly enjoyed participating in the festival and could not be more thankful for all the support that makes this possible.” “On behalf of the music department at (name of school), I am writing to thank you for the prize money that we received in this year’s Kiwanis Music Festival for the Harriet Kelly Participation Award. You can be assured that this generous donation will be used to help us purchase repertoire and equipment to enhance and strengthen our program for the future. Our students learned a great deal at this year’s festival and enjoyed the experience tremendously and so, thanks to you for your continued support of music education in London.” “My name is ( ), and I am the recipient of the generous award from W.L. “Bill” Cleland Memorial. I want to thank you for your donation. I am very grateful and feel honoured to have this prize.” “Thank you very much for the scholarship. I worked hard to earn it and am grateful it paid off. I love music and the scholarship will help me with my piano. Thank you again.” In a hand made card. “My husband and I attended the Elementary School Primary Choir Class this morning, to hear our grandson’s choir singing. The three choirs were wonderful and reflected such worthwhile instruction and enthusiasm from the teachers! Our special commendations, however, need to go to the adjudicator, Jacquelyn Norman. We were so impressed by how she made this experience a worthwhile learning time for the children. Her comments were full of fun, but made memorable for the children (and adults) with props and questions. Jacquelyn’s experience with music, but also with children, was so evident as she immediately caught the students’ interests and guided them through a few experiences to develop their musicality. My experience (albeit a while ago) with the Kiwanis Festival was about competition. This experience this morning was about learning and about the bond that develops in a choir. It was brilliant! Please pass on our thanks and congratulations to Ms. Norman for an excellent experience for us grandparents and for our grandson.” “Sharing gratitude, I believe, should always be a part of our mantra as human beings. I wanted to share my gratitude with this committee (Kiwanis Music Festival Board) for hosting a wonderful festival. I entered my two elementary choirs in two classes and both choirs had wonderful experiences. I so appreciated the teaching and coaching my students received along with their adjudication. It was a celebration of music rather than three choirs pitted against each other. My students commented on how kind people were and how nice it was to hear other choirs. From a music educator’s point of view, I appreciated the level of professionalism, organisation, and the obvious love of children each volunteer displayed. It was a lovely experience for my students to be a part of for the first time ever. Thank you so much for your efforts and for making my kids feel valued.” “Several of the local organists approached me after the Pipe Organ Day and said that Mr. Maddox was the best adjudicator that we have had. He did a great job of teaching. Mr. Maddox told me he was very impressed with the quality of the local entrants. He was amazed by the entrant in the “less than one year of study” class and said that the future of the pipe organ is ensured with playing like that. Mr. Maddox also remarked that he would have liked to be able to play as well as two of the entrants when he was the age that they currently are. Mr. Maddox was a delight to work with.” “I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for the generous award I received from the Kiwanis Music Festival. This recognition would not have been possible without the unwavering support, interest, and kindness of various individuals and organizations in our wonderful community. It is truly humbling to receive an esteemed accolade, and I am honoured to be recognized for my personal accomplishments. The Kiwanis Music Festival holds a special place in my heart, as it has provided a platform for aspiring musicians like myself, to showcase our talents and grow our musical journey. The Festival’s commitment to nurturing the arts and fostering a love for music is commendable, and I am grateful to have been part of this enriching experience. Once again, thank you from the depths of my heart for this incredible honour. I am infinitely grateful for your contribution to my musical development and for the enrichment it brings to my life,” “Today my students at (name of school) received a beautiful gift from your wonderful organization and they were over the moon with excitement! On behalf of the primary students at (name of school), I would like to say thank you very much for your generous award. I was incredibly surprised by this! It was a wonderful way to kick off our assembly today. Your generosity was met with lots of smiles, applause and a couple of cases, happy tears of joy! I am unbelievably proud of these 65 beautiful littles for working so hard to take their musical talents to new heights, with each practice they attend. They inspire me each and every day. Watching them rise to the musical challenges I present them with is truly a privilege, and one I am incredibly grateful for. They are very enthusiastic children and when they sing, they sing with their hearts without me even asking them to do so. Their performance at Kiwanis truly reflected this, which is why I am greatly appreciative that they were recognized in this way. Your generosity had touched so many hearts and more than you will ever know. The caring people who helped make our festival happen, truly make a positive difference in our community. Our city is blessed to have a Festival that celebrates and encourages young musicians, regardless of the stages they are at in their musical education. I also would like to thank you for welcoming and honouring choirs that are inclusive and not strictly auditioned. This means a lot to me because everyone who loves to sing should always be welcomed into a choir. Once again, thank you for this award for supporting Music Education. This money will be spent on purchasing sheet music for next year’s Kiwanis Music Festival. I have already started to look for new pieces. With gratitude.” “On behalf of the music department at (name of school), I am writing to thank you for the Martin Boundy Trophy and the prize money that we received at this year’s Kiwanis Festival. You can be assured that the trophy will take pride of place in our band room and will help to inspire the next generation of (name of school) musicians. Also, the generous donation of prize money that we received for our participation in this year’s Kiwanis Festival will help us purchase repertoire and equipment to enhance and strengthen our program for the future. Our students learned a great deal at this year’s festival and enjoyed the experience tremendously and so, thanks to you and all involved with the Kiwanis Festival for your continued support of music education.” “On behalf of the entire music department at (name of school), I am writing to thank you for the trophies and prize money that we received at this year’s Kiwanis Festival. You can be assured that these trophies will take pride of place in our band room and will help to inspire the next generation of (name of school) musicians. Also, the generous donation of prize money that we received for our participation in this year’s Kiwanis Festival will help us purchase repertoire and equipment to enhance and strengthen our program for the future. Our students learned a great deal at this year’s festival and so thank you for your continued support of music education.” “On behalf of myself and the Orchestra students (name of school), I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for our award and your contribution to the Kiwanis Music Festival of London. We were so pleased to be presented with the Gold Award for our class. My students enjoy exploring new repertoire each year and the monetary prize awarded to us will allow for the purchase of such repertoire. It is your support that assists in the continued learning of our students. Thank you again for your generosity. It is our hope that we will again participate in the Kiwanis Music Festival of London and continue to share our musical experiences and talent.” “On behalf of our bands and choirs I would like to say thank you for money. We will be using this to pay for some new sheet music and to hopefully help with the cost of a music trip next year. My students really enjoyed their Kiwanis experience this year and are looking forward to going again next year. Thank you again!” “Thank you for acknowledging my efforts and my bass solo. This award serves as a tremendous source of motivation for me to continue with my bass playing. Once again thank you for this award.” “Thank you for awarding us the Finlay Carroll Memorial Trophy. We are so glad to have been able to participate this year. We truly appreciate your donation and generosity. It will be a great help in assisting with costs of musical training.” This is my first time attending the Kiwanis Music Festival in London. I am happy I took part in this great event. The Quantz Memorial Award I received gives me more confidence to explore my potential. I would like to thank the generous prize donors for inspiring young musicians to keep going.” “Thank you for recognizing our chamber orchestra with a generous scholarship. Our students were beyond delighted!” “The students at (name of school) would like to thank you for the opportunity to perform in the music festival this year. ‘It was a fantastic experience and the best day ever!’ (A quote from one of our flute players.) The award of $100 will go towards new repertoire for both our band and choir.” “Thank you so much for donating money! I worked very hard and I am so happy I won, and it makes the win a bit sweeter when there is a money prize! So, Thanks!” “Thank you so much for donating this award. I am so grateful for this award. This really encourages me to keep on exploring music. I encourage you to keep supporting the festival so other young musicians can feel this same excitement that I felt.” “Thanks for your encouragement and continuing support! Best wishes.” “Thank you for your generous gift to the Kiwanis Music Festival. I appreciate your support in my musical education.” “Thank you for teaching me piano. Without you I could not play the piano at all. Thank you for teaching me and I am thankful for having such a good teacher like you. Have a nice summer.” “I am writing in appreciation of your generous donation to the Kiwanis Music Festival of London. I am incredibly honoured and thankful to be the recipient of this year’s Marie Devereux Memorial Senior Vocal Trophy. I am studying RCM Level 8 Voice with my teacher and am preparing for my voice exam in June. I hope to study Level 9 or Level 10 voice in the fall. The award will be very beneficial in helping me to achieve my various academic and artistic goals. I started my musical journey with piano and church choir, where I discovered my passion. I am now a grade student at (name of school) and the Soprano 1 section leader for the Amabile Youth Singers. This award serves not only as a motivator to improve but is invaluable for my goal to minor in music for university. Thank you again for your generous support of young musicians like me.” |
